Environmental Policy
Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy of Top O’ Tobago Ltd.
Top O’ Tobago Villa recognizes the role that environmental quality and biodiversity play in the sustainability of the Tourism Industry in Tobago. Our fundamental aim is to have as little harmful impact on this environment as possible but also to offer to our guests a rare opportunity to relax and be renewed. We believe we have the responsibility as a role model to our guests and the local community to create the following framework in which to reach our goals:
We commit to develop a framework to monitor and manage all significant aspects in areas including but not limited to water conservation, erosion, energy management, waste management and control of hazardous substances. Through this continuous monitoring and analysis we hope to ensure maximum performance levels, make improvements where necessary and provide all relevant information to Green Globe annually. We are committed to comply with national planning, environmental and other relevant legislation of Trinidad and Tobago.
We recognize our role as good corporate citizens in the social and economic development of our communities and are committed to the purchase of local goods and services as well as the employment of local persons to achieve the wider goal of sustainable development.
The intentions of Top O’ Tobago are to communicate and implement this policy to Management, the Directors, Staff and the Community at large. By doing so, we promote and raise awareness of the aims and benefits that are derived from participation in Green Globe by Top O’ Tobago. Our hope is that our guests from overseas and the local community will see the benefit and difference that environmental awareness makes and take these practices back to their own homes and communities. Tobago is a fragile island and must be protected in every way possible.
